Most of our employment opportunities are for Support Workers who help people to build friendships, develop skills and become active within their community. Cam Can recruit carefully to find Support Workers who are likely to be a good ‘match’ with a Member That is, they share similar interests, live reasonably close, have relevant skills, or know the local community of the person requiring support.
Cam Can is seeking self-motivated people to provide support to people who have a disability living in the community. Work is on a casual but regular basis.
There are several steps you can take to prepare to be a Support Worker:

Ensure you have a current NDIS Worker Clearance and a current driver’s license. If you will be working with children under the age of 18, you will also require a current Working With Children’s Check. If you are successful in being offered a role at Cam Can, and do not hold an NDIS Worker Clearance, you will be required to obtain one prior to commencing employment in line with NDIS requirements.
To comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct, Support Workers in the disability sector are required to complete a training module titled: Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality Safety and You. This module is an interactive online course that explains the obligations of workers under the NDIS Code of Conduct – from the perspective of NDIS participants. It was developed in consultation with the sector, including NDIS providers and people with a disability. The module is free and will take 60-90 mins to complete. Once completed, please download a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is required as a pre-requisite for employment at Cam Can.
